Abstract

In the public debate on the European integration process, the religious
dimension did not play a significant role until the focus of attention
moved to the Europea constitution and questions about the religious
identity of the European Union (El Weninger 2007, 178ff.). The present
study applies a political science methodology analyze the ambivalent
relation between Orthodoxy and the European integration process in
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Romania, and Serbia.
