Abstract
A cross-sectional survey of 92 preschool children was conducted in 4 villages of the Mae Rim District in the province of Chiang Mai. Anthropometric measurements and a dietary survey using the 24 h recall interview were employed to assess the nutritional status. Data were classified according to Gomez and the WHO. A comparison of the applied standards of reference showed significant differences between the local Thai standard and 2 international standards, the Harvard standard and the WHO standard. The nutrient intake was calculated using the data of the dietary survey. A comparison of the anthropometric measurements and the dietary survey demonstrated a considerable difference between the results.
