Abstract
In the present study with rats the effect of different maternal lead supply (0, 200 and 800 mug per kg diet) on the composition of fatty acids in lipid of erythrocyte membranes and liver in mothers and offspring as well as in milk were determined, The influence of lead supply on the content of different fatty acids on the maternal erythrocyte membrans was only slight whereas the influence on the content of fatty acids in erythrocyte membranes of the offspring was more marked. Similiar the maternal lead supply influenced the content of the different fatty acids of the liver more in the offspring than in mothers. In the milk only the fatty acid 16:1 was influenced by the lead supply.
